This is the place for links to other registration plate Websites or Instragram accounts that may interest you. It will build up over time, so do check back.
Quite often I'm asked "Why don't you add the other single letter plates that have more than one digit?". My reply is always the same, I spend enough time updating this site and running the associated Instagram page to do the same with the non 1x1 plates with single letters. I did think however that a few paragraphs should be said so firstly I put together a list of single letter plates that were issued (non auction plates).
All forward letters (usually referred to as right way round) were released, except I & Q, from 1 through to 9999 and a few reverse letters were aldo released, but not all the way through. D issued by Kent in 1964. 1 D was held back by reservation but not taken up by the beginning of 1965 and as such was never issued at the time and later auctioned. At the beginning of 1965 Kent had to adopt the suffix system, as such the last D issued for new vehicle registrations was 5700 D. Re-registrations carried on to 6719 D and in addition 6801 D was allocated to Canterbury local vehicle licensing office E issued by Staffordshire in 1953 but only from 1000 onwards. F issued by Essex from 1957 H issued by Middlesex in 1953 but only from 1000 onwards K issued by Kent in 1960 N issued by Manchester in 1959 but only from 1000 onwards R issued by Derby in 1962 U issued by Leeds in 1957 W issued by Sheffield in 1960 but only from 1001 onwards Before proceeding with further research I heard of a great website Charlie Morrow had put together, it has some great information on all the single letters (excluding Z) and really is worth a read. He also covers many other areas also. You'll find Single letters first , Single letters reverse (wrong way round) and there is a further section on Single letters with two numbers
